AWEX at Africa's Big Seven Exhibition - June 201507/04/2016
As part of the action plan of 2015, the AWEX participated to the Africa Big 7 exhibition that was held at the Gallagher Exhibition centre on 21-23 June this year.
This fair, in its 21st edition, is a professional exhibition that covers 7 sectors, around food and drink, food technology and retail. It is the biggest of its kind in Africa, attracting 225 exhibitors and more than 8000 visitors from 44 countries.
Our collective stand of 90m² consisted of 6 companies and a welcome area. For all 6 companies, it was a 1st time in South Africa and a very good showcase to pulse the market and the trends in the agro-food business.
We had 2 breweries, Brasserie du Bocq and Brasserie Lefebvre, one company producing baby cereals, Belourthe, one producer of frozen waffles, Augustin Peiffer and a beef producer, Veviba. The 6th company was presenting an innovative wine-box display, called LaBoul.
In preparation of the fair, we had contacted potential partners for Veviba and for the breweries. We also made use of the services of a Matchmaking program to increase the chances of interesting meetings during the fair.
All exhibitors established good commercial contacts, with concrete leads and launches on the South African market in the coming months.
