Major Belgian pledge in Third SA Investment conference 22/11/2020

R1,5 billion, that’s the amount of the cumulative Belgian pledge made at the third SA Investment Conference on the of 18th of November, proof that Belgian companies continue to have trust in the economic potential of the country.

At least a dozen Belgian enterprises plan to intensify their presence in SA in the manufacturing, energy, food and logistics sectors amongst others.

"We are very proud to see that many Belgian companies are faring so well despite the challenging economic environment!" said Didier Vanderhasselt, Ambassador of Belgium to South Africa at the concluding session of the Conference. "The pandemic is testing economies all around the world. We hope that further investment will allow South Africa to bounce back higher and unleash its full potential", he said.

At the moment, the two largest single investors from Wallonia in South Africa are Beka Shreder (outdoor lighting solution provider) and Magotteaux (grinding solutions for the mining & extracting industry). For more details please refer to our previous posts here and here.
