A technology made in Wallonia for the SA wine industry10/04/2021

The Belgian Consul General-Designate in Cape Town, Mathias Bogaert, and the Trade Commissioner for Wallonia in South Africa, Jean-Pierre Muller, visited the premises of Vinventions South Africa in Wellington (Western Cape) on 26 March 2021. Vinventions Group is a world leader in wine closure solutions.

They were hosted by Johan Conradie, the company's managing director. Johan is not just anyone in the South African wine closure business. He had been the MD of Juvenal for more than 20 years before the acquisition of Juvenal by Vinventions.

The South Africa facility will soon be upgraded with a new production line of highly innovative closures derived from sustainable, renewable sugarcane-based raw materials. Belgian engineers will arrive on site in a few weeks to install the machines and train the local staff.

Vinventions headquarters are located in Thimister, in the province of Liège. Vinventions won the award of the best exporting company in 2020, a prize awarded every two years by the Wallonia Export & Investment Agency (AWEX).
